Our Day:
Babies and Toddlers:

 

07:30 – Our Centre opens

07:30 – 08:30 – Arrivals 

08:30 – 09:00 – Our babies & toddlers meet in the Reception Room first thing in the morning to sing songs and recite poems in French and English

09:00 – 09:45 – Our toddlers then go outside for their morning snack and playground until 10:00. Our babies return to the nursery for morning snack and then sleep or do an activity.

10:00 – 11:00 – Our toddlers come back inside and split into small groups for various activities.

11:00 – 12:00 – Playtime and Lunch

12:00 – 14:00 – Nap time

14:00 – 14:15 – Afternoon Snack

14:15 – 14:30 – Potty time and change of clothes 

14:30 – 16:00 – Activities  

17:00 – Centre closes

 

Our Baby RoomAlthough we have a dedicated room and sessions for babies, we also provide opportunities for them to mix with our toddlers. The babies are encouraged to observe and copy the positive behavior of the toddler groups. We find this gradual involvement helps them to confidently try new things and to move up to the older groups when ready. 

Baby ActivitiesSongs and rhymes in French and English; sung by carers to babies, hand and feet painting, painting, ball pool, stand-up activity centers, general messy play, noisy activities with musical toys and instruments, sensorial activities, stories, gross motor activities.

Our Toddler Rooms: We have 3 toddler rooms here at Tiny Tots. The children also use the Art room for messy and wet activities and the dancing room for Monkeynastix and Dancing. They go to our Computer room to play on the computer. 

Toddler Activities: Singing lessons, play dough, painting, story time, drama, French & English activities, computers, musical instruments, drawing, collage making, dancing, ball activities, truck & car, riding cars and bikes outside, building with large blocks and legos, jigsaw puzzles, farm animals, climbing frames indoors and outside, counting, role players, dolls, size association, hide and seek, chalk drawing outdoors and playground with slides &. seesaws.Our climate here in Tamarin permits us to do many outdoor activities.

We encourage communication and speech in French and English, especially good manners. Thank you and please are reinforced.

Toilet training begins at this age. As soon as parents see that their children are ready to begin, we send home our booklet on the subject and begin training at the Centre.

Our Preschool Rooms: We have 4 preschool rooms: a French Petite & Moyenne Maternelle Room, three 3-4 year old age groups and one 4-5 years age group.
Their classrooms are used for counting, word and letter associations, measuring, drawing, coloring, story times, singing, cutting out and drills.
We also have a dedicated Art and Messy room for painting, cookery and Art; a dedicated room for Fun & Fit, puppet shows and Monkeynastics; a computer room for twice weekly sessions and an outdoor area for water play, sand box, bike track, slides, climbing frame and swings.

OUR CURRICULUM 

We keep our groups small as to offer as much individual attention as possible. Tiny Tots offers a fully bi-lingual (French & English) environment with fully qualified educators. Our groups are divided as such:

TODDLERS

Caterpillars:   (Babies) – 3 months – 12/14 months

Butterflies :    14 months – 2 years

Bumblebees:  2 – 2.5 years

Ladybirds:       2.5 – 3 years

PRESCHOOL:

Dolphins:         3 – 4 years (English)

Seahorses:      3 – 4 years (English  French)

Starfish:           3 – 4 years (English  French)

Whales:            4 – 5 years (English  French)


OUR SCHEME:
 
We have a structured program that we follow very closely with regular assessment tests to guide each child’s progress towards a French or English Primary School education. We also offer a wide variety of activities taught by specialized teachers whose aim is to develop each child holistically.

Our scheme covers:

  • Communication, Language & Literacy (English & French)
  • Problem Solving, Reasoning & Numeracy (Pre-Math)
  • Personal, Social & Emotional Development
  • Knowledge & Understanding of the World (Working around Themes)
  • Creative Development (Art, Drama, Music,Dancing )

  • Computer Skills (Mouse Skills)

We celebrate local, social & cultural activities such as Easter, Christmas, Diwali, Valentines Day & Chinese New Year to encourage children’s awareness and tolerance of their peers. We also celebrate popular World Days such as Cultural Diversity Day, Book Day, Environment Day, World Animal Day, Poverty Day and others.

Arrivals & Departures Time: Children are received personally from 07:30 to 08:30. We have 2 departure times between 12:30 & 13:00 and from 15:00 until 17:00.
* Please note that children must not be left at the gate, but must be handed over to the teacher on duty. For safety reasons, the gates are locked at 8:30 am.

Snacks: Tiny Tots provides light snack to toddlers and older children at 09:30 & 14:00.

Birthdays: Birthdays may be celebrated at the Centre. Kindly send in a cake by 08:30 to be shared during morning snack time. Tiny Tots celebrates this special day by “crowning” the birthday boy or girl and having a little party with their classmates.

School Doctor: Doctor visits are once a month to do a general check up of the children. She is permanently on call for any emergencies.
